Festivals

The school year is enriched by the celebration of seasonal festivals.  The rhythm, beauty and simple ritual of these festivals allows the children to feel connected  to the natural world and helps them to embrace it as something that supports and sustains them. At Candlenut Steiner School, we celebrate four festivals per year which are based on our local seasons and incorporate the four elements of water, earth, fire and air. These festivals are: a wet season Water Festival, a midwinter Festival of Lights, the Rainbow Fair and Open Day and a Music and Drama Festival. Another social and cultural highlight of the year is the annual Bush Dance.

The Rainbow Fair is a community event and anyone is welcome to attend, the other festivals are for the school community only.
